The Gun Game

"Some things to improve."

submission: The Gun Game
date: October 29, 2009

I really like the well-working physics of the game, although it seems a bit unrealistic that bullets already fall down on such short range. The Idea of a campaign and some challenges is good as well but has some flaws:
-The campaign is too short and boring. Couldn't you come up with some other ideas and way more levels?
- The achievements are mostly annoying as you have too spamm your left mouse-button for 2 minutes, so you have fired enough bullets.
- The challenges are too repetitive and sometimes nearly impossible to beat.

Robin the Archer

"Average."

submission: Robin the Archer

In my opinion the gameplay works quite well and is fun. I don't care at all about highscores so I don't mind if I lose points by shooting. What I care about a lot, is a nice soundtrack and I have to say there is room for improvement here. There are too less variations inbetween the music and at the part where it finally begins to sound better, it already begins to loop again. And the loop itself is pretty gltchy and not decent at all ;-)
With some added variations and a better loop the game could have kept me playing much longer.

The Glean of Glob

"Artsy."

submission: The Glean of Glob

This game feels like one of those very strange (but often charming) little games you get to play when you visit an exhibition of an university of arts. I actually like this one here because the task becomes obvious after a while and I don't stay totally confused. Nevertheless the game is much more experimental than usual flash games.

Thie Wizard's Notebook

"Feels fresh."

date: September 9, 2009

The general idea and the puzzles are really clever, I am impressed. But the technical realization (graphics, music and especially controls) could be much better. This original game should really have an improved sequel.

Tarboy

"Outstanding,"

Finally there is an artist who can compete with the great qualtiy of Adam Phillip's submissions. This movie is absolutely flawless. Its artistic style is very diversified but always feels complete. I really love the synchronization of music and film.
This is definetely one of the most professional movies ever submitted to newgrounds.

Save the Fallen

"Thank god there is amute button."

submission: Save the Fallen

Luckily I read the review below and the author's response to it. Otherwise I would either have to play with no sound at all or be driven insane :-) In my personal opinion the song is terribly awful, but this shouldn't be the reason to not do such a thing again. The point is that muisc with voice parts are rather unsuitable for games, as they distract you a lot. Besides the small size of the flash does not do the quality any favour.

Other than the music we have a simple but well programmed game here.

Dadgame

"Great... but improvable."

submission: Dadgame
date: September 2, 2009

This game is definetely on a level only few flash games achieve. It has a very fluid gameplay that is a lot of fun and quite impressive boss fights. Somehow it would exactly feel like a "regular" game for PC , if there weren't some flaws. The gameplay is very fluid as already said, but the graphics tend to run a bit slowly, even a bit laggy. The artwork has a sketchy style but I think some objects could look much better with little more effort. If everything was a bit sharper it would be easier to follow and understand what is actually going on on your screen. ;-)

More Zombies

"Perfect."

submission: More Zombies
date: August 9, 2009

This is definetely the best flash-zombie-slash-game ever. The controls work perfectly and the idea of tow buttons to attack in both directions deserves a price.
The graphics are nice, the soundtrack rocks and there is even an partially animated background story. Not to mention the many different weapons.
Well done!

Super Briefcase

"Soundtrack rules !"

submission: Super Briefcase
date: August 9, 2009

I can play simple games like this only for one round as it is very boring to pass through the beginning for a second time. But I have to say you made a lot out of the simple mechanics. The graphics in retro-style are pretty good, the controls work well and ,damn!, that soundtrack is so incredibly nice!

Giraffe Attack

"Below author's potential."

submission: Giraffe Attack
date: August 5, 2009

If this was a game by a flash-artist I have never heard anything before I would surely be impressed. The controls are fluid, the graphics fast and everything is snychronized finely with a soundtrack by fabulous paragonX9. But considering the fact this flash was done by jmtb02 who has already done such masterpieces as Dark Cut it seems just like a little practice piece for the author.
Plus, it is nearly impossible to read the text in the beginning and the game is very short.
